Slack¶
Updated June 6, 2025
Warning
Please note that you represent MobilityData on Slack with your company account.
When you leave the company, your account will be suspended and you will lose access to all the data and channels. If you wish to create a personal (or use your new employer's) Slack account, you must clearly identify your new affiliations in your Slack user name in order to prevent any ambiguity and clearly show you do not speak as a MobilityData employee anymore.
We use Slack to communicate within the organization and with other members. The app should already be configured for you (you can use the web version if you prefer), and it should not be used or installed on any other device than the ones provided to you by MobilityData, unless permission was given to you by your manager (see Policies > Personal data on MobilityData equipment).
How to log in to Slack¶
- Go to mobilitydata-io.slack.com
- Click on Sign in with Google.
- Assuming you already signed in to your Google account, choose it in the list.
- You should get a pop up asking if you want to open the desktop application.
If the Slack deskop app fails to open...¶
You have two options:
Open this URL : https://mobilitydata-io.slack.com/ssb/signin_redirect/fallback
If Slack Desktop app still does not open, from the same page as in option 1:
- Copy the link from the Open in Slack button in the Choose a Workspace window
- Open a new window in Incognito mode
- Paste the URL in the address bar and then hit Enter. You should be asked to open the desktop app then.
Private Channels¶
There are many internal private channels used only for MobilityData employees. You will be added to the pertinent private channels over time on or after your first work day.
Public Channels¶
These channels are shared with Members, therefore be careful about what you post there.
You can join as many public channels as you want, but we suggest you add at the very least these channels:
#mobilitydata
— This is the default channel everyone gets added to, staff and members alike.#gtfs
#gbfs
Note
You can add additional channels by clicking Add channels
> Browse all channels
in the Slack app.
